How does Jobby.dev's matchmaker pick candidates for me?

It scores skills overlap, years-of-experience band, compensation-range overlap, location / remote preference, work-authorization compatibility, and a small freshness boost for long-waiting seekers. Decline reasons feed back into the score for your active session.

What's billed — interviews, hours, or per-candidate?

Per live-event hour. Time only counts when an event is in the live state (paused and scheduled events don't consume minutes). Multi-recruiter events count toward the team's shared minute pool — running 2 recruiters in a 1-hour event consumes 2 hours.

Can I run a hiring sprint for one specific role?

Yes — that's the typical 'one-off hiring sprint' shape. Pick a 2-4 hour window, attach the single role, and run focused interviews during that window. See the events guide for shape options.

How do I prevent low-quality candidates from showing up?

Tighten the role's required skills (3-7 tags is the sweet spot), tighten the comp range to within 30% of the actual band, and use decline reasons honestly — they tune the matchmaker for your active session.

Can multiple recruiters run an event together?

Yes on Pro and above. The matchmaker round-robins matches across available recruiters; whoever is free gets the next candidate. Each recruiter sees their own queue view; team-wide pipeline state is shared.

Does Jobby.dev replace our ATS?

No. Jobby.dev replaces the live-screen and matching layers; advanced candidates flow into your existing ATS via Greenhouse / Ashby / Lever sync. We don't store long-form pipeline state.

How does ATS sync work?

Powered by Merge — one-time OAuth from your ATS during integration setup. After advance, candidates ingest into your ATS within ~10 seconds with parsed resume, structured profile, your 1-5 ratings, and (optionally) recruiter notes.

Can a candidate re-interview for the same role?

No. Once you've decided on a candidate for a specific role, that role is locked from re-matching with them for 90 days. They can match to other roles at your company immediately.

What happens if no one joins my queue?

Usually one of: skills too specific, comp band below market, or on-site-only in a low-density market. Run the event for at least 2 hours before assuming starvation; the discovery feed needs time to surface.

Can my agent post events and roles for me?

Yes. The MCP surface mirrors the browser UI — jobbydev_create_event, jobbydev_job_create, jobbydev_event_go_live, etc. Set up at the MCP overview page.

How do reschedules and cancellations work?

Scheduled events can be rescheduled or canceled freely up to 15 minutes before go-live. Once an event is live, the cancel action ends it (any in-flight interviews complete normally). Seekers in the queue at end-of-event get a notification with a link to your team's other upcoming events.

Can I see analytics on past events?

Yes — at /account/events/<event_id>/analytics. Shows queue length over time, accept rate per recruiter, average interview duration, and decline-reason histogram. Pro and above get team-aggregate dashboards; Power Play unlocks per-event funnel charts and downloadable CSVs.

What happens to candidate data if I cancel my subscription?

Saved candidates and report cards stay in your account in read-only mode for 90 days, then delete. Active integrations (ATS sync, Slack) deactivate immediately. Re-subscribing within the 90-day window restores full access.

Can I run a Jobby.dev event during a hiring freeze?

Strictly speaking, yes — we don't validate hiring authorization. Practically: candidates accept matches expecting active hiring; running events during a freeze burns trust + degrades your team's match-success rate (which de-prioritizes you in future matchmaker decisions). Pause until the freeze lifts.

Is there a referral program?

Yes for paid plans — both sides get 1 month free of the higher of their two plan tiers when a referred recruiter completes their first paid interview. Details at /affiliates.
